One month later…
It’s been a month since the reboot of All Manner of Bad and this is your monthly check in, actually it’s been over a month, more like month and two days, but y’know Google Analytics, they’re crazy in their having to wait a day to get the previous day’s numbers.
Basically, everything is down by a good 30 percent compared to the readership of the previous month. Right now, it’s not too much to worry about, after all there have been some big changes.
The old strip style was tossed out and replaced with thrice weekly updates of full pages, they site was somewhat stripped back down to it’s basics and is slowly begin rebuilt, and a lot of the focus currently has been on getting the work down and getting things out on time and not all that much on self promotion.
Currently, I’ve managed to update everyday that there was a scheduled update. It’s been an interesting learning curve. In the beginning I had a lot of hesitation as to the new page format, but as of now the worries I had turned out to be not as bad as I was figuring.
Another thing I’ve been getting my head around has been writing a longer form story comic, instead of the ten day or less story arcs that were used in the old webcomic. Right now it’s sixteen pages per ‘issue’, which is basically one complete storyline from beginning to end. The longer story arcs are a bit of a challenge, I seem to be able to write longer ones and shorter ones, but not the sweet spot I’m aiming for.
As in everything practice makes perfect.
Right now everything seems to be running well.
This month’s plans are to begin redesigning the sites, fixing all the links, slipping back in the ads to make some pocket change, and expanding the readership (hopefully back to pre-reboot numbers). The updates will continue as usual and hopefully they’ll keep right on going for a good long while.
